Kitarra

In the album Gordon Mizzi- Kitarra , Gordon Mizzi plays some of his compositions such as Variations on a Maltese Theme, Flying South from No 1. Sonata for Six Mute Swans, Habanera, and Island Scenes No1. Valletta- Barrack Gardens. Also included is his arrangement of Elgar’s Salut D’Amour for guitar.There are also pieces by Albeniz Granada, Dowland’s Melancholy Galliard and King of Denmark’s Galliard.Two Tarrega pieces selected  are  Estudio Brillante and Recuerdos de la Alhambra  and there is Bach’s Prelude 1. from the Cello Suite No.1.

Gordon Mizzi-Favoriti is a selection of favourite compositions chosen from Carlos Bonell’s recordings of his music.They include Saints and Fireworks with the lively tarantella Fireworks in the second part of the piece, Song of the Sea, Sonata for Six Mute Swans 1. Flying South, 2. In the Bay, and 3. Lament of the Swans. Jean d’Estrèe’s  Branles de Malthe (1559) arranged by Gordon Mizzi is recorded here for the first time. The Three Love Poems are influenced by Hawaiian music and il Maltija is a traditional Maltese folksong arranged by Gordon Mizzi. Finally there are the  six Islands Scenes. All this music is published by Mel Bay in two volumes as The Music of Gordon Mizzi.

Song Of The Sea

Song of the Sea Carlos Bonell Plays Gordon Mizzi was the first album to be released and includes diverse influences, pieces such as Sonata for Six Mute Swans, Variations on a Maltese Theme, Habanera, and Tango and Madliena Sonata.This music is published by Mel Bay in Song of the Sea. The Music of Gordon Mizzi Volume One. 

Saints & Fireworks

The second album to be released with Carlos Bonell playing Gordon Mizzi’s compositions and arrangements was Gordon Mizzi Saints and Fireworks. This includes arrangements of  Jean d’ Estrèe of the Branles de Malthe (1559) based on incomplete music found in the Bibliotheque Sainte Genevieve in Paris which supplied only the Superius Part and the British Library which had only the Bassus Part. The Branles by d’Estrèe are here recorded for the first time.Other pieces include six Island Scenes, the lively Saints and Fireworks which is a tarantella  as well as other diverse pieces. This music is published by Mel Bay in Saints and Fireworks The Music of Gordon Mizzi Volume Two.
